The 2019 Corn College is a daylong workshop offered on March 13 that will focus on what farmers need to know to develop a successful corn growing operation. Specialists from OARDC will share the latest research to maximize corn crop yields in an economical fashion. The workshop will be held at Upper Valley Adult Applied Technology Center, 8811 Career Drive, Piqua, OH. Topics will include: Budgeting a profitable corn crop; agronomic practices that optimize profitability in corn production; nitrogen timing and needs during corn development; Miami and Darke County corn on-farm research results; insect pressure on today’s genetics and future control; fungicide effects on disease, ear rot and yield in field corn; and using precision agriculture to improve corn production efficiency.
