FREEZE DRYER RENTAL

The purpose of the freeze dryer rental is to: 

•    Give the community the opportunity to learn more about freeze drying food.
•    Freeze dry foods with a minimal charge.
•    Decide if you would like to invest in a machine of your own.

DETAILS FOR RENTAL

•    $10 per use. (includes use of vacuum sealer)
•    Pick up trays in advance.
•    Place frozen food on trays and bring to the Extension office on your scheduled day.
•    Staff will call you once your food is finished. You must pick up your food within 24 hours.
•    Please bring a container to place your freeze-dried food in. (mylar bag, canning jar, etc.)
•    Some packaging supplies will be available to purchase for a small fee.

POLICIES

•    No freeze-drying onions or other foods with a strong smell.
•    Not for commercial use.
•    Some candy expands during the process.  Any candy needs to be approved beforehand.
•    You may not sign up for the freezer dryer more than once in a month.
•    Food must be started in the dryer on Monday or Tuesday and picked up within 24 hours of being finished.
